Mark E. Perry serves as the Director of the Music Industry Program at Oklahoma State University. His interests include music production, forensic musicology, and electronic dance music. Under the moniker thund3rbunny, he deejays and produces electronic dance music. He owns and operates the record label Bunnyhous3 Records. As a guitarist, he has performed in Europe, North America, and South America. He studied classical guitar under Philip Hii, Jaume Torrent, and James Reid, and flamenco guitar with Manuel Granados. He has presented papers on the subject of popular music at national and international institutions, including the Universiteit van Amsterdam, University of Southampton (United Kingdom), Turku University (Turku, Finland), University of Sussex (United Kingdom), De Montfort University (United Kingdom), Bob Dylan Research Institute (Tulsa, Oklahoma), and Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland). Engaged in publishing about music, he has contributed to the Roberto Gerhard Companion (Ashgate, 2013) and written many articles for Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart, Oxford Music Online, and Grove Dictionary of American Music. He has also made contributions to American Music, World of Music, Journal of the Society for American Music, and Latin American Perspectives. From 2010 to 2013, he served as the recording review editor for American Music. He holds a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Kansas.
